These three wood engravings are taken from the 1855 work “British Game Birds and Wildfowl” by Beverly Robinson Morris. The superbly detailed figures were printed from engravings cut by noted illustrator Benjamin Fawcett, and each coloured by hand.
Here, we present three images of waterfowl: the King Duck or Eider Duck, the Canada Goose, and a trio of swans to show the differences between the Hooper, Polish, and Beswick’s Swans.
